We provide comprehensive eye examinations, assessing your vision as well as examining the health of your eyes. Our Optometrists treat many disorders and when necessary, will refer and liaise with eye surgeons and your medical practitioner.

Using up-to-date specialised equipment, we look for evidence of eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts or age related macular degeneration. We can also detect ocular signs of general disease such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

An eye examination is recommended at least every two years, as changes in eye health and vision may occur gradually without apparent symptoms. Eye muscle coordination and focussing problems may also occur in children, so it is important that they are examined regularly.

Eye Examination

Full eye examination are eligible for medicare rebate, which usually means that the out-of-pocket expense is less than $15 . Examinations involve detailed questioning with regards to any problems you may be experiencing with your eyes or vision and measurement of your vision, determining your spectacle prescription and if necessary the best type of spectacle lens to suit your needs.

We are also specially trained in ocular diseases and are able to prescribe ocular therapeutic drugs required to treat many eye conditions.

Frames and Lenses

Our extensive range of quality frames means you can chose from the latest in eyewear with something for everyone, including designer brands.

All of our frames come with a minimum one-year warranty, giving you an added level of confidence and peace of mind.

We also offer the latest in spectacle lens technology, including thinner and lighter material and advanced coatings. All lenses are supported by our 6-month lens warranty should they not meet your expectations or visual requirements.

Sunglasses

All of our sunglasses comply with the Australian Standard for UV Protection. This means you can feel confident that your eyes are being protected from damaging UV rays whilst wearing the latest fashion. If you require your prescription fitted to your sunglasses, our helpful staff can organise this for you.

Contact Lenses

At Glen Huntly Eyecare, we can assist you to becoming a successful and regular contact lens wearer, correcting most types of spectacle lens prescriptions. Whether you want to change your look or just want the convenience of no longer having to wear glasses, contact lenses could be the answer for you. Our experienced Optometrists will assess your eyes to find the best lenses to suit your individual needs. All contact lenses are fully covered under our unique practice warranty.
